Day 17: 21 Day Challenge to a Happier and Healthier YOU!

Welcome to Day 17 of your 21 day journey to a happier and healthier you! Today we are going to de-clutter and organize! Do you feel stressed out at home because of the mess? Your home doesn't feel "homey" or you can't quite put your finger on why something is just off in the room's decor? Take some time to plan out better organization and Feng Shui in your home.
Take a quick look through these 10 problem areas to find out where you need some Feng Shui quick fixes most: Feng Shui Tips To Calm Negative Energy
Still having trouble “feeling at home”? Here are some tips to create a Feng Shui home: Guide to Feng Shui
Here is a map to help you lay out each room and even your entire home. To briefly explain - imagine looking at each room (or your entire house) from a bird's eye view and lay the following image over it. The entry is all the way at the bottom. Some quick and easy fixes to make your room more Feng Shui is to simply have a representation of each of the appropriate elements, color, or number in that area of the room. (How do you represent elements? water = glass, actual water, blues and greens, glass tiles, mirrors; wood = wood, browns, trees, wood floors; fire = candles, fireplace, reds and oranges; earth = plants, browns, tans, and greens, stones, pottery; metal = all metals, shades of bronzes and silvers)

Do you think this Feng Shui stuff is just silly? To each his own... but try to keep an open mind. If you don't want to search for and rearrange any Feng Shui problem areas in your home then at least try to work on organization. Try to give everything a “home” within your home – for example, work related things on your desk/in office/in file cabinet, all food in pantry/kitchen, clothes in closets/drawers, toys in the kid’s room, etc. Organize your closets/pantry, donate old clothes that you never wear, rearrange furniture for a better flow. Try not to mix the purpose of your rooms, and if you have one room that serves for several purposes, try to organize them to separate each purpose to a different area of the room.
Don't forget - keep track of your eating habits, sleeping patterns, hydration, and activity level today. Eat lots of vegetables, get rid of added sugar, limit gluten and dairy intake and drink plenty of water! Keep a journal and take 5-10 minutes this morning to set an intention and meditate to kick start your day. Wind down with 5-10 minutes at the end of your day by reflecting on the day and record your feelings and results.
