n this workshop, you will learn a practical approach for modifying your yoga practice during pregnancy. We will discuss why certain poses should not be performed while expecting and focus on poses to reduce tension in the body, strengthen the pelvic floor, and alleviate common pregnancy aches and pains.

Yoga props will be used to modify the practice. Please bring 2 blocks, a strap, and a bolster or pillow. Please have access to a wall and a counter height piece of furniture or stable chair.

Explore various modifications that you can implement into your yoga practice to safely practice poses through pregnancy. Learn about the physical and mental changes that a woman experiences during pregnancy, common discomforts and the yoga practices that can alleviate them, which poses to avoid and why, and understanding the progression of labor and birth and pain-coping techniques during pregnancy and labor.

This workshop is great for pregnant women and their spouses looking to learn about stages of pregnancy, yoga teachers who are looking to learn about safety of pregnant students in their classes, and people with general interest of safety of pregnant women in relation to her yoga practice.
